Our History

Great Additions is a licensed and insured construction company based out of Levittown, Long Island, New York and we proudly serve Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

The Company was founded by Howard Gumpel, an experienced builder with over 38 years in the business of construction and remodeling. The company strives to provide outstanding customer service and the highest quality craftsmanship to satisfy each and every client. References will be readily provided upon request.

Introduction to Great Additions

It is our promise to guide each client through every step of the design, selection, and remodeling process. We will provide you with a precise estimate as well as a consistent schedule of how your project will proceed from start to finish. At Great Additions, we feel that the time spent planning your project is just as important as the time we spend building it. From planning and permits to fixtures and finishes, we take pride in our work and the result shows in our long list of satisfied customers.

The Angie's List Super Service Award

The Angie’s List Super Service Award honors excellence among service and health providers who maintain superior service ratings and reviews on Angie’s List.

Eligibility is based on the size of the city and how long Angie’s List has been there. Angie’s List must be established in a city for at least one year, prior to any company being considered for the Angie’s List Super Service Award.

As our markets grow in each city, in terms of businesses and members, eligibility may change to ensure that the top 5% of qualifying businesses per category, in each market, receive the award. Those eligible will be required to have a background check.

To be eligible for the Super Service Award businesses must accomplish the following before October 31st:

Maintain an “A” Rating in each of the following areas:

Overall Grade, which averages all reviews received (3.5 GPA)
Recent Grade, which averages reviews from the last three years (3.5 GPA)
Review Period Grade, which averages reviews received since the previous November 1st to October 31st (GPA varies)

Your staff makes it easy to work for you, by letting me do my job and by giving me all the information I need for that job. You have a great clean-up crew which I also find helpful. You also pay right away for my services. Most companies have no idea what they are doing, but you guys do it right and should get all the work!
